Misty Doornek

Now offering acupuncture services (finished certification)

Dr. Misty Doornek grew up on a small farm in Northeastern Montana where her passion for animals grew from summers of horseback riding, 4-H, and caring for a variety of family pets. In 2002, she moved to Portland and immediately fell in love with the state of Oregon. She completed her undergraduate degree at Portland State University with a major in biology and then went on to earn a DVM degree at Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. In 2017, Dr. Doornek decided to make a move out of the city to a smaller community. As a lover of the outdoors and looking to escape the rain, she was happy to relocate to Central Oregon and call Bend her home.

With 6+ years in practice Dr. Doornek’s professional passions include preventative medicine, management of chronic diseases, senior pet care, and surgery. She strives to always provide individualized and compassionate veterinary care and enjoys developing long term client and patient relationships. She also has a passion for community involvement along with mentoring others in the veterinary field.

Dr. Doornek is happy to have found a pet friendly, outdoor community where she can share her free time with her partner, Jonah and their two rescue dogs Barley and Mackie. When not a she can be found mountain biking, hiking with her dogs, or exploring all the Oregon has to offer.
